I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
