Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.
Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.
"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.
Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.
A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.
Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.
The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.
The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.
Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.
He said energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
